Medu vada

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, medu vada is a classic South Indian savory fritter made from urad dal, lightly spiced and deep-fried to a golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • Medu vada batter (ready-to-use / in-house fermented) – 200–220 g
  • oil - 20ml

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer if required.
  2. Mix oil in your batter & lightly grease your hands and shape the batter into vada (donut shape).
  3. Place the shaped vadas on a greased air fryer basket.
  4. Lightly brush or spray oil on top.
  5. select AIR FRY mode, set tmperature to 180°C and time to 15 minutes. Press START/STOP.
  6. Flip halfway for even cooking (optional but recommended).
  7. Cook until golden and crisp.
  8. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
